Career and Academic Counseling

The goal is to enable all grade 7-9 students to make well-informed, thoughtful decisions and choices regarding their career options while providing exploration opportunities for various professions and trades.  Create a space to learn and research job opportunities and requirements.  Help guide grade 9 students in picking their high school cores and electives to meet post-secondary requirements for universities and trade schools.  Coordinate with local stakeholders and businesses to arrange job shadowing opportunities.  Develop vital life skills involved in employment; this includes completing resumes, cover letters, and job applications.  Teach all students how to successfully take tests and study according to their ideal learning styles.  Help students to build and complete both academic and non-academic S.M.A.R.T. goals throughout the year.
